MicroStrategy Rated Top Performer in Web Deployment, According to Independent Business Intelligence Survey

MicroStrategy® Incorporated (NASDAQ: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence software, today announced that The OLAP Survey 5, a leading independent survey of the business intelligence (BI) software market, has found that MicroStrategy customers lead in Web deployment.

McLean, Va., (January 18, 2006) –

MicroStrategy® Incorporated (NASDAQ: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence software, today announced that The OLAP Survey 5, a leading independent survey of the business intelligence (BI) software market, has found that MicroStrategy customers lead in Web deployment. For the fifth consecutive year, MicroStrategy customers are more successful in deploying business intelligence via the Web than are customers using any other leading business intelligence product.

Conducted by independent analyst Nigel Pendse and Survey.com (http://www.survey.com/olap), The OLAP Survey 5 compiled the BI experiences of 2,100 organizations around the world. The Survey found that MicroStrategy had the highest Web Deployment Rate of 84%, meaning 84% of MicroStrategy’s customers reported that they have deployed business intelligence via the Web to at least 50% of their users.

In its findings, the Survey stated that web-deployed BI applications deliver greater business value and benefits than those deployed via client/server technology.

“For the fifth straight year, MicroStrategy sites had the highest rates for Web deployment,” said Nigel Pendse, author of The OLAP Survey 5. “Unique among major BI products, the complete MicroStrategy product line was designed from the ground up for large scale Web deployments, rather than being converted from older desktop or client/server architectures. This provides an advantage for its customers, who report on far more data, to more users, and who are much more likely to be Web connected than those using any other product.”

“The OLAP Survey 5 has again confirmed that MicroStrategy customers have greater success in deploying BI via the Web,” said Sanju Bansal, MicroStrategy’s COO. “MicroStrategy’s advanced technology provides an intuitive zero-footprint ‘windows on the web’ user interface, which makes it easier for customers to realize the full value of their BI investment.”

MicroStrategy Ranked #1 in Customer Loyalty, According to The OLAP Survey 5

For Second Consecutive Year, MicroStrategy Customers Most Loyal

McLean, Va., (January 11, 2006) –

MicroStrategy® Incorporated (NASDAQ: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence software, today announced that in a comprehensive survey of companies using business intelligence (BI) software products, those using MicroStrategy are the most loyal and satisfied. MicroStrategy received an overall customer loyalty score of 81% and was the highest ranked business intelligence software product reviewed.

The OLAP Surveys, conducted annually by industry analyst Nigel Pendse and Survey.com (http://www.survey.com/olap), are the most comprehensive independent surveys of the BI market space and products. This year’s survey, The OLAP Survey 5, is the most extensive, compiling the BI experiences of 2,100 organizations across 95 countries.

According to The OLAP Survey 5, customer loyalty is an indication of how satisfied a customer is with a vendor’s products and services and is a crucial factor in vendor success. A loyal customer is defined as one that continues to use existing applications; purchases additional software to deploy existing applications more widely; uses the product in preference to others when implementing new applications; and favors the product if there is ever a demand to reduce the number of BI suppliers.

The products reviewed in The OLAP Survey 5 in rank order were:
BI Vendor Customer Loyalty Rank Overall Loyalty Score
MicroStrategy
1

81%
Applix TM1
2

80%
Microsoft AS
3

“For the second consecutive year, MicroStrategy had the highest customer loyalty of any of the products reviewed,” reported Nigel Pendse, author of The OLAP Survey 5. “The results confirm that well-known vendors, who have pursued a growth strategy based on acquisitions aimed at covering the entire BI spectrum, have poor customer loyalty; whereas MicroStrategy, which has concentrated on a single product architecture and has grown organically, came out on top. The fact that MicroStrategy was rated number one suggests that many of its customers see no alternative to the product.”

“We are delighted that our customers have, once again, indicated their strong loyalty toward MicroStrategy products and services,” said Sanju Bansal, MicroStrategy’s COO.
